FALL OF EARTH
WAIROA MAN INJURED (I ft raid CorroHpundent.) A single man, William Cleinas, 44, son of Mr. Jas. Ulemas, of Wairoa, formerly in the British Navy, yesterday met with an accident at the railway works at Kotemaori, on the route of the East Coast railway. Ife was engaged with others on a cutting, when the bank began to slip-. He got clear of t!wo falls, but a third caught* him, and be sustained an injury to bis back, necessitating his removal to the County Hospital, Wairoa. From latest inquiries no change was reported, but internal injuries are feared. The injured man took part in the Battle of Jutland, where, he was picked up by a German destroyer, and was conlined to a. German prison for many months, during which time, he declared, bin treatment! was indescribably inhuman, and even on reaching Now Zealand he was little better than a skeleton.
