MINIMUM PENALTIES
OPIUM DEN RAIDED (Pur Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Detectives yesterday raided a Chinese laundry in Riddiford street, and to-day the occupier, Man Poy, was lined £SO for permitting the premises to be used for tho smoking of opium. A young Chinese was fined £l2 10s for smoking opium. These are the minimum penalties.
