NUISANCE ALLEGED
DOG BREEDER CHARGED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A somewhat unusual case came before the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when Mrs Leeto was summoned for keeping a number of Pomeranian dogs in premises alleged to be dangerous to health and offensive. There was a second charge that the dogs were a- common nuisance on account of their continuous harking. The defendant’s counsel said he had a complete answer and 16 witnesses who would say that they were not annoyed by the dogs. His client was a breeder of Pomeranians, ;uid was particular about cleanliness. He hinted that the prosecution really had nothing to do with the dogs, but was the result of a private quarrel, and really meant to put the defendant to expense. Counsel for the plaintiff told a different story. He averred that one dog in particular barked incessantly, and others were nearly as bad. The health of the complainant’s wife suffered from the noise. The magistrate said ho would inspect the place before hearing tho evidence.
