DISCHARGE OF MAKO
WxVTERSIDERS REFUSE DISMISSAL Work at the Napier waterfront so far as the I'uliki and the Mako wore concerned was held up on Friday on account of differences of opinion between the watorsiders •working these vessels and the owners, Richardson and Co., as to how they should he worked. The Mako was discharging Napier cargo from Wellington and also transhipping Cisborne cargo into the Putiki. During the first portion of flic Make's working 14 men were employed on. the wharf and in the sheds, and when their services were no longer required they were dismissed. The wnlcrsider:; look objection lo this, the union claiming that tin' men could not be discharged until the ..Mako had completely finished her discharge. The matter was referred to (he local disputes committee, but no decision could be conic tOy and a deadlock has resulted pending the decision of the Nat ioual Disputes Committee. —.11.8. Herald.
