CLAYMORE STRIKES MUD BANK

(Per Press Association.) WHANGAREI, this <lhy. The Northern Steamship Coy's. C'laymenje, scheduled to reach Whangarei at about 3 o'clock this morning, grounded on a mud bank below Oherahi. As it was nearly full tide when she hit the bank nothing can bo done till this afternoon's tide.

Passengers were landed at Onei'abi'in a launch, ami brought to Whangarei by motor. A heavy north west gale, accompanied by rain, was prevailing when the vessel got ashore, and a rough trip was experienced from Auckland.
