PLAY ON POVERTY BAY LINKS Tournament play was continued over tlie week-end on the Poverty Bay links, the line weather adding much to the attraction of the links. The greens are not in first-class order, but that is not surprising ill view of the recent weather, and players overcame any difficulties with a good grace. The third round of the senior tournament, was completed, and the junior tournament was carried to the semi-final, some of the results lining most' interesting. The annual match tournament between Poverty Bay and Gisborne social clubs took place during the week-end, and aroused keen interest' and enthusiasm, mori' especially the meeting of the (irst-sf ring players of the respective teams, X. 11. Bull and J. McCormick. The latter played a sensational round, finishing in five below par for the links. SENIOR TO URN A M ENT The play in the senior tournament was generally good, and an especially interesting meeting took place between It. E. Gambrill and 11. 1). Anderson. Gambrill was in excellent form, and won the match !) up and 8 to play. Barns-G inha in one down, A. 11. Collett 2 down. Putting Competition.— In the play-off for the tie in the putting compel hum for Mr. Hamilton Irvine’s trophy, Mrs. Bull (17 ami IS) defeated' E. Balfour (IP and 20). INTER-CLUB TOURNAMENT POVERTY BAY SUCCESSFUL Much interest was taken in the progress of the annual inter-club match between teams representing respectively the Gisborne aiul Poverty Bay social clubs, for the trophy hold during lasi year by the Gisborne Club. The play resulted in success for Poverty Bay in the majority of the games, and the trophy changed hands with appropriate congratulations. The winners took 17 games to 14, two games being all square; 11 of the singles matches played in the morning and six of the foursomes in the afternoon being secured by Poverty Bay representatives.

X. 11. Bull and J. McCormick met] in the most important of the singles, in which McCormick won for Gisborne with an outstanding round. He won by live and four, doing the round :iu 7.">, live below par, while liis card indicated that he was four up on bogey.
