LADIES’ MATCHES The second round oi:' the Saturday ladies’ competitions was commenced on Saturday-, with the following results; — Maimluke 2 goals, heal Kia Toa I. Old Girls ft goals, heal High School nil. The Manufuke-Kin Toa game was a good, even match, in which the standard of play showed, considerable improvement. The High School girls pul up a fairly good showing against their much more experienced opponents, who. howos er, had too strong a combination to give the school girls any hope of victory. The ladies’ hockey match Knrumen versus West purl, was won l>v the latter by 2 -goals to I. P.A. In the Auckland hockey competition on Saturday Wesley 11, defeated Mt. Eden .’I; ’Varsity It, beat Arota nil; Somerville -I, beat SI, Luke’s nil. — P.A. i ADDITIONAL TERRITORY FOR POVERTY BAY The Poverty Bay territory has been added to in connection with the control of ladies’ hockey, and now includes the Opofiki county, which was previously under the control of Auek la ml. The Poverty Bay district for ladies’ hockey now includes the following comities: Waiapu, Opotiki, Uawa, Matakaoa, Cook, and Waikojiu. About three years ago the Poverty Bay Association wrote to the New Zealand Ladies’ Association pointing out that then* was a considerable area round Motu township in the Opotiki county, which was included in the Auckland provincial hockey district. Poverty Bay asked that an area of 10. square miles from the Motu township he ceded to it.- The new rule hook of Hu* New Zealand Ladies’ Association just received ill Gisborne discloses the fact that the
whole of the Opotiki county has been taken from Auckland’s control and included in the Poverty Bay area.
