Auckland : Arrived, at 9.20 a.m. today. Marama, from Sydney. The first meeting for 1927 of Loyal Gtiaborne Lodge, No. 6087, was held lust evening, Bister I'. Williamson, N.G., presiding over a good attendance l . Bro. \V. Stewart, P.G., now resident in Diinedin, was present at ihe meeting after an absenco of 12 years, and a warm reception was extended to him. In expressing thanks, the visitor referred at. some ldngth to absent faces, nnd the great changes wrought amongst the mem-bors since his time in the district. ■V vote of sympathy was passed lo the wife and sons of the late Mr. \V. E. Wallen, a member of 30 years' standing, and thanks were expressed to those members vho had placed their cars at the service of the lodge in connection with the funeral. The secretary reported that the lodge audit had been completed, and that the blance sheet would l>d forwarded to the members at an early date. Sickness during the year had been very hoavy, and hospital claims considerably exceeded the levies. The next lodge night will take the form of a question 'box. The report from the sick visitors was more favorable, although the lodge has several chronic cases amongst its oldest members. Three candidates were nominated and one elected during the evening.
