TO SINGAPORE
FLIGHT PROPOSED MELBOURNE, Jan. 13. Important developments in aviation, particularly in the Royal Australian Air Force, are foreshadowed for the coming year. Although the settlement of the actual details necessarily has been postponed until the return of the Minister for Defence, Sir Neville Bowse, the mair. lines of the future are already set out.
The chief among them is a proposal to increase the force by an additional squadron of machines; the replacements of existing machines; the completion of a new depot at Laverton, and an increase in the personnel to man the new squadron.
The proposed flight of British seaplanes from England to Singapore is another event scheduled for the current year, and it is hoped that when the Minister returns he will be able to announce that a complementary flight from Australia to Singaporo to link up with the British airmen lias been decided upon.
