"RAISING THE WIND"
LONDON, Jan. 5
During the trial of Harold White at the Buckinghamshire Quarter Sessions, it was stated in evidence that the accused had written to his wifo, under an assumed name, announcing his own death and claiming tho reimbursement of funeral expenses. On receiving the money, ho utilised it to bigamously marry another woman.
White was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment.
