At last week's meeting of the Opotiki County Council the engineer, Mr. W. Upton, reported .-—Flood damage: An authority for £175 has been received for flood damage on the Waioeka road. Damage has been caused to the road near the Jlaukokore river; but to what extent I have not been able to ascertain. Works carried out: A small bridge ou the Whinray road, near Motu township, lias been built. Repairs have been done on the Opotiki-Motu and Opotiki-Wliakatane highway. Work has been laid off on the Moromoko road. Forty blue-gum piles have been procured and delivered to the Waioeka bridge for lengthening purposes. Contract completed: Contract No. 443, for delivery metal from the Waioeka Gorge to Waioeka road near the cemetery, has been completed. r ■ '
