SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCH. VICTORIA MEETS S. AUSTRALIA. (Eleo, Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received December 4, 10 a.m.) ADELAIDE, December 4. The Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and South Australia was commenced yesterday. Victoria lost six wickets for 265 runs —Ponsford 178, Hendry 50, Mitchell 52. The weather seas fine but dull. After the .interval the batsmen treated the bowling with great respect and the rate of scoring was much slower. The fielding throughout was very faulty.
