SABOTAGE

ACID IN DYES TRADE WAR STORY , PARIS, October 14. Allegations of bribery and corruption on a large scale were made during a trial at Mulhouse (Alsace-Lorraine) Assizes, of seven engineers and workmen, who were charged with tampering with the machinery and dye-baths at the Weinmann textile works in Alsace. Weinmann stated that he opened the works in opposition to Senator Paul Ledlerin's factories, and also that he refused to join the dyers' syndicate. Weinmann's foreman said that Ledlerin's agent induced him to place ruinous acid among the dye. Ledlerin admitted paying an agent to get back workmen' who had de-sort-ed and' joined Weinmann, but.declared that he did not commit .sabotage. The trial was adjourned.
