DEAL IN SHARES
NEW TRICK WORKED INTERESTING SEQUEL (Special io the llerald.) OIIIUSTCIH'RUH. this day
A trick, new to Christchurch is re ported to have been worked on a sharel.mkor. A man. who had never had any tlaiisactions with a sharebroker, gave him a eommistipn to buy shares ot a total value of £7CC or £BOO in a wellknown and sound company, lie. alleged he had made a cheque running into four figures at rabbiting. The commission was duly executed, and the sharebroker sent the /customary note to obtain his client's continuation of tile transaction.
The sequel showed that the note was used by the man to establish his credit with another person, who was impressed, of course, with the- fact that the person seeking the credit was dealing in shares to such a large amount. As the (shares have not depreciated the sharebroker is not likely to he a loser.
