TWO SUDDEN DEATHS.
INQUESTS BEING HELD,
Tho sudden deaths of two natives will bo the subject- of inquests to he herd at Te Karaka this afternoon by the District Coroner, Mr. E- C. Levvcy. The- I first - case is that of a Maori .woman named Haetn. 42 years of age, whose) death occurred on Wednesday night. It is stated that, the deceased, who worked with a shearing gang, had been ailing for some time, and that a fortnight. ago she was ordered to hospital by a Gisborne doctor. The instruction, . however, was not, carried out. On Wednesday night her condition become worse and a start was made for hospital, but the woman died on the way.
The other death is that of an elderly native, Hooper Christie, about 60 years of age, who resided at Knitara, mnr Pulia. He took ill on Sunday last, and died early yesterday morning before medical, attention could be obtained.
