The weekly meeting of the Compel:■ tious Society Committee was held laevening there being present: Lev. Canon Packe (presiding), Rev. L. L JHitm, Messrs J. A. Nicul.'W. Hamilton livmc, L' V. The dancing competitions were illscussed at length and it was decided that two open classes should he included in tne schedule not restricted to aumteus and with no age limit. l/wing to the difficulty hi securing sufficient, copies of the test music it "»>•> resolved to make the violin solo under 18 an own select ion item. N The secretary reported that over 6CJ entries had been received and it was expected that this number would he considerably increased before the closing time.
Mr. W. .1. Sinclair was appointed to take charge of electric installation and arrange for judges’ telephones, etc. J Last year’s committee, consisting of Messrs Nicol. Havre and Samson was appointed to draw up the programme for the festival. In accordance with a-resolution passed at the begitiiiifig; of-the /year an assistant sectctaiy was appointed to relieve the secretary of some of the work during the, festival. It was decided that competitors must supply the secretary at ofice with tho titles of all own Selection items in the music, vocal and elqcfitiohary sections and also with the name of all character, classic, and / fancy-fkhceS.
