Y.M.C.A. CAMP.

The Easter camp of 1922 promises to constitute a memorable occasion to everyone associated with the Y.M.O.A. and combined Bible-classes now under canvas at Te Hapara. Thanks to the courtesy of the Gisborne Racing Club, the Park grounds have proved an idea! ramping, site, affording admitahle shelter and extensive sports and . playing grounds, whilst the building anil facilities are all that could be desired. There are close upon 100 lads and Seniors m camp, which opened on Thursday evening, and again this year the effort has met with the generous support, of parcuts and others interested in the move meat. An exceedingly happy and profitable time is being spent, the days he ing. crowded with events full of interest. The tents are comfortably located in the members' car paddock, where tliev arc absolutely protected by a high iron feme from any southerly weather that may he experienced. The commissariat arrangements are also highly satisfactory and keenly appreciated by the. lads. Yisi tors have expressed commendation of tin general camp arrangements. The health of all concerned is excellent. Special interest attaches to the visit of Mr. W. ■l. Mains, of Auckland, who is’paying tils first visit to Gisborne, at the invitation of the camp committee. Mr. Mams acted as V..M.C.A. secretary in the New Zealand training camps during llte war period, and will he remembered with pleasure by many member’ ot the second division with whom he came in contact during those strenuous and trying days. He is an exceedingly happy and manly speaker, and is regarded as one of the most popular leaders in the Bible camp movement of the Dominion. I esterday morning (Good I 1 ridgy) Mr. Mains gave an inspiring address upon th(> manliness of Christian life. To-morrow (Sunday) he will conduct camp service al, 11 ii.m.. and to thi: residents of Te Hapara'are cordially invited. Tt is hoped many will take the opportunity to he present. Last evening the camp was favored by a visit from Mr. J. S. Barton. SAL, who met with a. stirring India by wav of a cordial reception. The. visitor delivered a very thoughtful address, and one that will doubtless leave an impression for good upon the lives of every lad who was privileged to hear it. .Mr. Barton was accorded a hearty vote of- thanks, and by way of response captivated his audience with one of his characteristic lecitations. The visitor subsequently made an inspection of the tents as the lads were retiring for (lie night. Easter Monday promises to be a record day. . The camp will he thrown open to visitors, and parents and others are cordially invited to bring their picnic baskets and spend the day on the ground. lint water will be provided. Ihe lads will be engaged in sports and the Mission Band will be mesent. The camp will lire a k up on Tuesday morning.
