Tins Football Federation has decided' riot to play an association match against England on the 28th unless England excludes professionals. The French Rugby Federation expelled Gaston Vidal, Under-Secretary of State for Technical Education (better known as French Minister for Sport). m Vidal recently denounced the growth of professionalism among French footballers, protesting against the excessive value the Federation places on revenue from games. Ho said that the sport was degenerating into a spectacle. Some great matches were circus parades. Vidal’s frankness annoyed the French clubs, which called on Vidal to justify his declamatory language. He replied that lie had spoken as Secretary of State. After a secret ballot, he was expelled hv 195 votes to 170. It is noteworthy that Koichel, vice-president of the Football Association, had' just resigned as a. protest against the Association- allowing clubs to play against English professionals.
