At an inquest concerning the death of Charles Winters, who had been identified as a. Wellington chemist, and whose body was found in December with the head jammed between rocks at Walson’s Bay, the Coroner found that death was due to asphyxia, possibly caused by poisoning, though an analysis failed to detect l lie presence of acid. Letters written by the deceased to a. brother were read. They stated he had been discharged from tho Liverpool Hospital, suffering from an incut able disease, and did not think it worth while continuing to hear tho suffering all his life. He had purchased poison and was going, to end it
