The warship Melbourne sails for Bluff and Hobart this afternoon, and the Chatham for Patterson Inlet. The chairman of the Otago Harbor Board sent tliis parting meseago to Admiral Dumaresquo: “Ait Devoir and Kia Ora. Australian warships are always welcome in Otago.” INVERCARGILL, this day.
A two-storeyed brick building at AveTial, occupied by Muriel Brewer, fruiterer, and R. Buckingham, grocer, was completely gutted by firo early this morning. Practically nothing was saved.
