IPer Press Association.) THAMES, last night. Errol Smith, 15, son of the local manager of the Bank of New South Wales, was drowned in a lagoon near Thames. A companion, John O’Meara, made a great effort at rescue. The body was recovered.
CARTERTON, last night. An elderly man, James Lewis, aged about 66, was found dead in bed this afternoon. Deceased lived in a little whare by himself and was last seen on Tuesday. Tho state of the body suggests that he had been dead for three or four days.

At the inquest concerning the death of James Lewis, aged 68 years, who was found dead in his bed on Saturday afternoon, the coroner, Mr. E. G. Eton, returned a verdict that death was duo to heart failure.
John Kiddie,"* a- married man, aged 48 years, died suddenly this morning. He had been medically attended lor some time past. This morning he went for a walk, but before he could reach home an outbreak of haemorrhage occurred. Deceased leaves a widow and two grown-up sons. DARGAVILLE, this day. ; The body of a girl named Vera Wells, aged 19 years, was found in the Kaihu liver this morning, A man heard a scream about 1 a.m. and made investigations, but was unable to find anything. A search was mado at daylight and the body was found The circumstances point to suicide. CAMBRIDGE: this day.
The decomposed body of a man was found qri a sand spit in the Karapiro stream, at Cambridge, on Sunday. Circumstances point to suicide. The pockets had been filled with stones and a plough share tied to tho neck. The arms and legs were tied. It is believed that he jumped off a small bridge over the stream.
