WANGANUI, this day. ■:■■' At the inquests on the bodies of James Knowles and Thomas Miller Scott, two men found dead yesterday, verdicts were returned in each case that' death was due to heart failure. Knowles was a returned soldier. He had several awards and decorations from the Royal Humane Society, including a gold medal, the highest award given for life saving. He rescued . six persons from drowning on different occasions at Napier.
