STATE COAL MINES.
_^_ WORK TO BE RESUMED AT RUNANGA. (Per Press Association). GREYMO.UTH, last nightIt is officially announced that work at the State mine at Runanga will bo resumed on Monday next. The union met to-day, but what settlement they came to amoug themselves has not so far been made known. Later : The question of a continuation of the strike was submitted to. a vote at the meeting of the union, with the result that a majority of nearlythree to one decided to. terminate the strike forthwith and resume work on Monday. The voting was: For resuming, 120; against resuming, 46. The Paparoa strike continues until the directors disclose their attitude, towards the compromise formulated by the Conciliation Commissioner.
