The Poverty Bay Golf Club's links wore well patronised 'on 'Saturday afternoon, when several matches were • indulged m. Perfect weiither prevailed. ' . About n dozen of .this year's players participated m a competition with sealed bogey and sealed handicap. G. Dawson (6) all square, proved the winner, with A. Schierning (6), 4 down, and P. Hamilton (set), 4 down, next. There was also a fairly good entry for a men's sealed hogev competition", the. two best cards being C. A. Fenwick (7), 4' down, and R. Willock (6), 4 down. ' A stroke competition .for a trophy presented by Mr J. Howie was indulged m by the ladies, the winner turning Up m Mrs R. Willock. The best cards were:— Mrs R. Willock 69—12, 57; Mrs Morgan 54r-5, 59; Miss Bell 70—10, 60; Miss Foster. 85— 24, 61; Miss Ferguson 79— 17, 62. Others playfnsr were Mesdames King, Willock, O'Meara, R. Barker, Burke, Misses Sweet, : F. Davies, I/. • Barker, E. Barker, E. Coieman, -L. Cpleinan, Adams, and Bennett. The season- wilj be closed on Wednesday next, when the men will play a 4-ball match m the morning, nnd a driving, approaching a.nd putting competition will take place m the afternoon. ~ A' ladies' match will also take place m the afternoon.
