♦ (Per Press Association.) Wellington, this day. The weather is fine for the cricket match, which begins at 11.30. Upwards of £250 »v as taken at the gates yesterday. The weather, which promised fine, became overcast, and by noon light rain was filing. The game was resumed at 11.40. The two last man maimed batting, and the score was carried to 243, chiefly by the aid of byes, Whatman notbeing able to resume his place behind the wickete. Waters was not out for 17; Hales, c Whatman, b Hargreaves, 15; extras, 13; total, 243. Bosanquet took two for 61, Burnup four for 45, Hargreaves three for 39, Thompson one for 56, Dowson none for 39. Owing to the rain the game was postponed until 2 p.m. The weather is improvimtr, and it may remain fine during the afternoon. With outside sales over £315 has been taken m gate money, which exceeds the guai*antee.
