Ultimately the motion for the continuation of levy was lost by 52 to 35 j therefore the motion of the previous Saturday was confirmed, and a levy go far as the Typographical Society is con- ■ cerned ia to bo discontinued from Saturday. The miners at Brunnerton offered to go to work on terms which were offered them before they came out, but the manager of the mine stated the engagements with the free laborers could not be broken. The miners decided not to work with free laborers. Seven Union wharf lumpers asked for work to-day, and are now discharging the s.s. Brunner in company with free labor men. Other Unionists did not apply, and apparently do not intend to. A majority of the ooal miners believe the Company will soon get tired of the free laborers in the coal mines and they will try and hold out till then, when the Company will be glad to get them back again. Auckland, to-day. The Typographical Society have decided to discontinue their levy of 2s 6d per week to the strike fund. Christchurch, to-day. It is understood that ten railway hands, who were suspended, have been re-engaged. Others will be taken on when "vacancies occur. Tfc is said those who have returned practically renounced the Railway Servants' Society as at present constituted.
