The West Australian Question.
*_ — Received November 16, 12.30 p.m. London, Nov. 16. The Times publishes a letter from Sir T. Cockburn Campbell, M.L.C. Western Australia, on the question of granting responsible government to that colony. He suggests that all unoccupied and unassigued territory in Western Australia ought to remain under Imperial control until handed over to a FederaKJovernment in trust for the future Australian dominion. Commenting on the subject, the Times thinks that the scheme for the division of the colony as suggested by Sir James Lee Steere, speaker of the Legislative Council, should prove acceptable to all parties, with small concessions from both sides. The Waihora, which arrived at Wellington on Thursday from Sydney, brought 160 passengers, viz. 60 saloon and 100 steerage. The Wellington " Post" remarks ; " The large number of passengers by the Waihora affords another illustration of the fact that the exodus lias stopped, and that the tide has turned in favor of immigration."
