» THE INDEMNITY DEMANDED BY FRANCE. [Rbuter's Telegrams.] Paris, July 8. In the Chamber of Deputies M. Ferry, the Premier, made a statement regarding the recent engagements between the French and Chinese troops in Langsou, on the Tonquin frontier. He announced that from the statements which have been received by Government it was clear that the French force, which was going to occupy Langsou in accordance with the Treaty, had been led into a regular ambush by the Chinese. M. Ferry further stated that it was the intention of his Government to demand from China ten millions sterling as reparation for tho outrage. It was currently stated here yesterday Government will order the occupaof Foo-Chow by the French troops, as a guarantee for payment of the indemnity to be demanded from China.
