MELBOURNE.
Thuarday. The Bank of Australia, at Moe, was stuck up last night by two men masked. They were successfully resisted, but though they were fired at, they succeeded iv escaping to the bush. The police went m pursuit, and captured them this morning. They prove to be the sons of a selector. There was a good attendance at the races to-day. The Oaks was won by Petra ; Rivalry, second ; Nellie, third. Time — 2 mins. 42£ sees. The Spring Handicap was won by Levant. Flying Stakes by Remembrance. Royal Park Stakes by First King. In the Assembly last night, Mr. Berry stated that he dosired a dissolution and an appeal to the country immediately after dealing with the Reform measures before Parliament.

Thursday. . The Legislative Assembly affirmed that a new Education Bill was desirable.
