Account of the Bank Robbery at Lancefield.

Wellington, This Day. The steamer, Wakatipu brings some particulars of the robbery of the .Bank at Lahcefield, which is between 30 and 40 miles from Melbourne, 1 arid 16 miles from the railway line. When the two j 'men entered, tlte younger took out a pocket-book and turned over the leaves, thus engaging the attention of the cashier, Morrison. The other man, then, said we are the Kellys, and have secured the police, at the same time presenting a revolver at ; Morrison. They afterwards -took out a piece of rope,, and tied and > gagged 'him; j; ...The. younger man then went round the counter, but hearing a noise m the dwelling-house, he put up the chain of the door, leading to it. I One man then opened 'the teller's drawers and took out "all the money;' iHe asked for the key of the safe, and Morrison said the safe was open. They found this statement correct, " and took out £100 m notes, asking if that was all the money m the Bank. Morrison replied m the affirmative; but the fact was there was £4,000 m the Banket the 'time. ■'•..'.{■:'•:..'.:. j.. -• -.' When the men were at the safe, Morrison, though gagged, muttered out that £10. of the money m the safe was his own, and the elder man made the* younger man return it. After they obtained all the money thißy could get, they .decamped. When Musty, the "came into the Bank, and was bailed up, he thought it was a joke.
