WELLINGTON.
This Day. The " Wakatipu," which arrived on Sunday, brought 200 bundles of tents and poles for the Government from Sydney. Mr. Sheehan is expected here on Friday. The Government received yesterday the following telegram from Hawera :— " Captain Good arrived m town yesterday. He met ploughing' party after they had been turned off, and says they looked pouri and crestfallen. Indirectly he learnt that they had sent a messenger to Parihaika for instructions before they resume ploughing." 'Yesterday they did not put m an appearance on any of the places threatened, and as yet the great majority of Natives on the Plains appear to be keeping aloof from Te Whiti's ploughing policy.
