This Day. A Maori, now m Mount Eden Gaol, has stated that Winiata the murderer of Packer, at Epsom, left the King territory, went to Raglan and shipped thence to Manukau and is now employed at bush work m the Kaiptsra or Hokianga districts.
The Maories m Waikato and Raglan are' about to celebrate the formation of the l'oadfbetwettii those places by a great feast on Friday afternoon. A large number of invitations have been sent out by the Maoris.
The road is not yet finished, but is passable for wheeled, vehicles, and they cannot wait longer before expressing their views on the benefits of roadmaking.
A Maori Runanga, or Parliament, at Orakei, has been opened, but nothing of importance has transpired, and the whole business is rather flat and stale.
