DUNEDIN.
This Day. Heavy ordnance for the defence of the Port of Dunedin has been shipped by the Bonares, which sailed from London on December 15.
The second report of Guthrie and Larnach's Timber and Woodware Factory Company, which will be submitted to a meeting of shareholders on Monday next, shows the net profit on working for nine months, ending 31st December, will be £24,000 3s. 6d., which will be recommended to be appropriated as follows : — Dividend at rate of 10 per cent., £12,926 Bs. 7d. ; Bonus 2h per cent. ; balance carried forward, £857 Is. 6d. The reserve fund will then stand at £12,000. The company's trade continues steadily progressing.
Subscriptions for the relief of sufferers by Kaitangata Coal Mine disaster are coming m freely from all parts of the Colony.
