Napier, This Day. The following is the declaration of the poll to-day for the election of two Municipal Councillors : — Cornf ord, 357 ; Ashton, 221 ; Miller, 220 ; Ellis, 146 ; Cohen, 127 ; Rearden, 32. Cornford and Ashton are therefore declared elected. The session of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand, North I. O. G. T. was brought to a close yesterday. After the installation of Officers, a public meeting was held m the evening, at which Bros. Fox, Hemus, Speight and Phillips gave addresses. It is stated that Mr. X Puflett the Union Company's Agent at Napier will succeed Mr. David Mills at Lyttelton, and is to be removed to Wellington.
