THE INFANT WONDER TROUPE.
The Elder Brothers Troupe will make their first appearance at the Masonic Hall on Wednesday.. The newspaper press throughout both islands write most warmly m eulogising the clever performances of the company. We take the following from the Dunedin Age : — " The entertainment given m the Princess Theatre sjast evening by the Elder Brothers — gymnasts, singers, and stepdancers — was well attended, and passed most agreeably to performers and spectators alike. The lion's share of the programme was supplied by Master A. Elder, the infant wonder, a boy six years, with precision, and gave some negro delineations to the manifest satisfaction of the audience. In conjunction with his brother Harry (nine years) who is a clever comic singer, acrobat, and clog-dancer, he appeared m several double songs and dances, and m a double sailor's hornpipe. Mr. J* Elder, though the possessor of but one leg, is a most expert and agile gymnast, and the feats which he peformed last night upon the Roman rings, horizontal bar, and single trapeze would not have been more successfully executed by a two-legged professional. He was applauded most cordially at frequent intervals during his stay. Mr J. McGuinness gave" m a finished manner upon the violin the familar air, "Home, Sweet Home," and m response to an imperative encore favoured the audience with « The Cuckoo Song.' "
