ACCIDENT AT THE RAILWAY WORKS.

We regret to hear that a painful accident happened at the railway works to-day, to Mr Wilkie and one of the workmen. They were engaged in erecting a trestle which they had secured by a rope. The ladder broke, and both men were precipated a distance of 20 feet striking a beam in their fall Mr Wilkie sustained a wound in the neck and a dislocated wrist, and the other man was also wounded in the neck. Dr Keating was sent for, and promprly attended to their injuries.
