Intelligence has reached here that a French traveller named Solietter has obtained from Egypt the cession of the Bay of Tajnrra on the north-east coast of Africa, at the head of the Gulf of Aden. (Received Nov. 24, 2-50 p.m.j LONDON, Nov. 22. Arrived, Orient, Cotopaxi, from Melbourne (October 10). Ships, Crusader, from Lyttelton (Ang. 21); Wild Deer, from Port Chalmers (Aug. 31.) LONDON, Nov. 23, evening. The latest bulletin announces that Dr Tait, Archbishop of Canterbury is now rapidly sinking, and but little hope can be entertained of his recovery. ST. PETERSBURG, Nov. 23. Serious disorders have arisen amongst the students at the colleges in the city, and at Warsaw and Chankoff; and the other institutions have consequently been closed by the order of the Government. A report is current that the University in this city is undermined, and much alarm prevails.
