PACIFIC VOTE-COUNTING
FINISHES NEXT WEEK
A cable message received yesterday by the Chief Electoral Officer, Mr B. Jrwin, from th© special returning officer in the Pacific, states that be will not be able to complete his official count of the forces’ votes for that area till next week. He has taken the count as far as he can, but states that h© is still waiting the receipt of ballot papers in th© course of transit from distant stations. The number outstanding is not large, but till he receives them th© special returning officer cannot give the complete figure. No advice has yet been received by Mr Irwin as to the result of the official count of the votes in the Middle East.
