Th© Tararua Electric Power Board resolved at its meeting yesterday to convev it s thanks by letter to Miss Helen Taylor, of Eketaliuna. Miss Taylor rendered ecellent ass .stance in answering telephone calls on the occasion of an outage when a fctorm caused a severance of a line and a consequent power cut-off. Until a late hour. Miss Taylor remained at the telephone. Wairarapa Show. The Wairarapa Caledonian Society have douated prizes for piping events at the Night Show on Wednesday ingt, events are Open Piping and Maiden Piping and post entries will be accepted fur tluse events. In addition the Caledonian Society lias given points prizes of £1 each for children’s, dancing under 12. and 12 to 3 6 years. Members of Caledonian Society are assisting with the running of Piping and Danping events. General entries for the Show are coming in well and entries will he accepted until today, Saturday, 16tn October.
