SLANDER ACTION
AGAINST INVERCARGILL MAYOR Electric Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, Last Night A defence to Mr. Alfred William Jones’ writ claiming £sot>‘ damages from the Mayor, Mr. John Miller, for alleged slander was filed in the Supreme Court to-day. The writ was served on the Mayor on June 13. The action arose as a result of alleged rem irks made by the Mayor at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council, of which Mr. Jones is a member, on June 7.
