COMMEMORATION SERVICE.

C OUNCIL APPOINTS COMMITTEE The mayor of Pahiatua intimated to the Borough Council last night that as yet he had received no official word of details to be arranged for the commemoration service for the lab l . King George V., but he had been advised that the function would take place next Tuesday. If fine it would be an open air gathering, but if wot would take place in the King’s Theatre. He understood that th<- Church of England minister (Rev. H. Wilson) would be the only clergyman in town that day (the others being on holiday). and after a discussion it was decided to appoint the Alayor and Councillors Sturton and Brown to meet tin* minister and go over suggested plans for the function. The Band had already made its arrangements about taking part in the proceedings.
