GAS POISONING CASE.

MERE TM AN’S CONDITION. Electric Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 16. Reginald Merriman, the survivor of the gas poisoning tragedy in Kerr’s Road, Avonside, is still in a serious condition in hospital, but has regained consciousness and is now expected to recover. The inquest on the victims opened this morning, and was adjourned after evidence ol : identification bv John Holmes Ellis, an uncle of Mrs Merriman.

The funerals will not be held until after the port-mortem examination.
