IN COMMITTEE

The bugbear ot reporters, the person who speaks for some time and then announces that his remarks have been in committee was criticised by Mr C. F. Champion at. a meeting, of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. “Some members of this society have the bad habit of talking for four or five minutes while the reporters are noting and then turning round and saying it is all in committee.” said Mr Champion. “It is not at all fair for the reporters for one thing, and for another it is out of order,” Mr Champion added that if members did not desire reporters to take notice? of their remarks the meeting should go into committee. The chairman agreed that the procedure mentioned was ridiculous.
