MOTORISTS BEFORE COURT
CHRISTCHURCH CASES. Electric Telegraph.—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, June 29. A charge ot negligently driving a motor-ear, thereby causing the death of Maiy Gibson, aged 76, was preferred against Colin. Campbell, of Gloucester Street, in the Police Court this morning. The accident occurred on, May 1 at the intersection of Oxford Terrace and Madras Street. Allegations that Campbell bad been driving on the wrong side of the road and at an excessive speed were made by the 7ioliee Campbell pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. WOMAN DRIVER CHARGED. SPEED DANGEROUS TO PUBLIC. CHRISTCHURCH. June 29. As a sequel to a recent accident in which Mr A. P. Delacour, a wellknown businessman, met his death. Gladys Josephine Gray, of Hereford Street, I.inwood, was charged to-day with driving a, car in Bealey Avenue at a speed dangerous to the public. Defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 30s and costs. The police said that apparently deceased, who was cycling, cut the corner and swerved. Defendant was driving at 20 miles an hour near the intersection instead of 15 miles.
