Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Woodville sale: —We had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was an all round improvement for all classes of stock, and we have to report a very satisfactory clearance at better values: —Fat ewes 20s 6d. good hoggets 11s 6d, 13s, 14s, light fat bullocks £lO Is, 2-year steer- £4 2s to £4 2s 6d. dairy heifers £5 ss, £6 ss, £7, cows and calves £4 2s to £4 13s, empty cows £3 7s to £3 17s 6d, Inixed yearlings £2 Is to £2 14s. A steer offered by Mr H. Baker. Hopelands, on behalf of the Patriotic Fund realised £4 2s 6d. At the Pahiatua. sale yesterday we offered no sheep but a heavy yarding of cattle, comprising mostly dairy heifers, for which anything with quality sold well. A good clearance was effected, prices showing an improvement. Good dairy heifers. £6. £7 2s 6d. to £8 ss; medium dairy heifers. £4 10s to £5 17s 6d: backward heifers. £3 10s to £4 ss: dairy cows, £5 7s 6d to £7 15s: cows, ill calf, £3 4s to £4 ss: empty cows, £2 ss. £3 17s to £4 10s: empty 2-yoar heifers. £3 5s to £4 : yearling heifers, £3.
