WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Land Board was held on Thursday in the Board’s office, Mr J. W. A. Marchant, Commissioner, being in the chair; there also being present, Messrs A. VV. Hogg, J. Stevens, and H. A. Field, M’s.H.lt., and A. Reese.

The following schedules to obtain titles were approved, the conditions of the Act being complied with: Sections 8 and 2, block 8 and G, Makuri, VV. F. Smith ; section 844, block 4, Castlepoint, J. F. F. Foreman ; section 18, block G, Mangahao, J. Y. Crawford ; sections 55 and 48, block 10, Mangaone, T. Bayliss. Tho following applications to transfer sections were approved : Section 92, Mangaramarama V.S., A. Merrie to M. Thompson isubject to the payment of the claim by the Government Advances Office of £8); section 2, block 18, Maugahao, I’. Gardner to W. VV’oolf; section 7, block 18, Mangahao, A. G. Thompson to A. .J. Sutcliffe; section 19, block 8, Pukctoi ; 1). Robbie (deceased) to J. Robbie, sen; section GB, Ilastwell V.S., C. Rowe to G. Tate; section 42, Pongaroa V.S., C. J. F. Hyde to U. Milner ; section 1, block 1, Tararua, J. VV. Gardner to himself and L. F. Gardner ; section 14, block G, l’uketoi, J. Blackley to VV. S. Algie; section 2, block 2. Mangahao, J. O'Connor to H. VV. Stevens ; section 16, block 1, Puketoi A. VV. Ford to B. A. Strange. The Board approved of the application of H. Neilsen to subdivise and transfer a portion of section 77, blocks 14 and 15, Mangaone, to VV. C. Larsen ; and also approved of J. Jennings’ application to convert section 10, blocks 7 and 11, Makuri, to lease in perpetuity. The ranger’s inspection of Mr J. Ham’s section 14, blocks G and 10, Makuri, was deferred until January next to enable further improvements to be effected. The Commissioner submitted a schedule of about 180 recent inspections made by the Crown lands rangers, in which the conditions of the Act had been complied with at the time of inspection. The mem bers of the Board deemed the report very satisfactory. With reference to the payments in arrear on C. 11. Anderson's section 10, block 18, Mangahao, an adjoining owner wrote stating he could not get Anderson to fence and that the improvements had been done by another person. The Board decided to declare Anderson's interest in the land forfeited for non-compliance with the conditions of his lease.

At the request of G. C. Miller, selector of section 2G, block 5, Mount Cerberus (Pahiatua No. 1 block), it was decided to declare his interest forfeited at next meeting for uoncompliance with the conditiors of the lease, and to re-offer the section weighted with the value of the improvements.
