ATHLETIC SOCIETY.

Committee Meeting.

A meeting of the Committee of the above Society was held at the Commercial Hotel on Friday evening. Present Messrs H. \V. Briggs (in the chair |, C. Avery, A. Stewart, J. Gregory, W. Tosswill, VV. Brown and A. Baillie. Mr Tosswill said he had call 1 tie meeting to get authority to raise a loan of L 165 on the'Society's pro perty. The Trustees had announced themselves as willing to agreo to this course.

It was suggested that the whole of the trustees should resign and new trustees be appointed. Mr Briggs said the trustees should be allowed to have full management of tho property and the revenue derived therefrom.

Another suggestion was made that the money be raised on members’ guarantee, Mr Tosswill agreeing to do the transfer without charge.

Messrs Briggs, Tosswill, and Giegory were appointed a sub-coin mittee to interview the manager of the Bank of New Zealand, re raising a temporary loan up to £IBO to pay off Mr Liogan s mortgage.
