WATCHMAKERS’ ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON, February 6. The thirteenth annual conference of the Retail Watchmakers and Jewellers’ Asso ciation of New Zealand met at Wellington yesterday and to-day, Mr H. S. Hislop (president for 19301 occupying the chair. Mr J. Williams, of Wanganui, was elected president for 1931, as next year’s conference will in all probability be held in that centre. The Executive Council for the present year was elected as under: Messrs H. M. Conway (chairman), M. M Heinemann (bon. treasurer' H. W Lloyd, C. H. Sherwood. S. F. M'Lean, G. Morris, and T. Tremayne, secretary Mr G. F. Judd. Delegates were present from various parts of the Dominion, and several remits designed to strengthen the position of the trade and improve its status were discussed and passed-
