For some time the Napier Harbour Board has had an application before urn Alarine Department for authority to use the whole or portion of £53,000 of loan money for dredging in the inner harbour channel and basin. The matter was further discussed recently at a conference between the Harbour Board and tha Minister of Marine, Air J. G. Cobbe. After hearing the views of ever.v member of the board tbe Minister undertook that the Royal Commission's report regarding harbour matters would be overhauled by the department officers, and reports made to the Government to enable it to decide whether or not it v.ould carry out, its findings.
