NEW INDUSTRY AT MATAURA.

SUGAR-OF-MILK FACTOR’S!. GORE, February 1. A -movement has been on foot for soma weeks past to start a new industry at Mataura in the form of a sugar-of-milk factory, and a number of men m the dijtrict have been interesting themselves in the matter. A meeting was held at Mataura on Monday to consider proposals for the formation of a company. An option over the whey and skimmed milk from the Mataura Dairy Factory was laid on the table by Air R. Raeburn. A suggested prospectus with a share capital of £22,000 was also laid on the table together ' with an estimate of the cost of plant, etc,, in connection with tho scheme. These and other matters were discussed at length, and in some cases were amended for submission to the solicitor in. order to draw up the prospectus of the new company. The following were appointed provisional directors:—Air D. S. M'Kenzie (Gore), chairman, Dr Baird (Wyndham), Alessrs R. Raeburn (Edendale), D. AL Al'Donald (Mataura), Thos. M'Donald (Alataura), and A. Alartin (Gore). _ Air D. L. Poppelwell was appointed solicitor. Several matters of detail were referred to the chairman and Alessrs Poppelwell . D. Al. Al'Donald. As soon as the preliminaries are arranged another meeting will be held and the shares placed on the market. It is considered that the flotation of a successful concern is assured.
